Testimonials, page 2

Yeshiva students at the Curia, Roman Forums
"We have visited the Vatican twice before - once with a guide and once using the "audio" tour. The tour with Brenda was marvelous for many reasons, including: seeing the Vatican from a Jewish perspective, access to areas not usually available to the public, having a charming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide who is on first name (and in some cases kissing) terms with the Vatican staff."
- David Borkin, England
"Touring the Vatican with Roy was like going there with Dan Brown. You had to see all the "official" Vatican-guided groups listening in when Roy revealed the secrets Raphael hid in "School of Athens" literally behind the Pope's back! Thank you, Roy, for showing me a Rome most will never see!"
- Jonathan Hefter, 19, University of Pennsylvania
"Roy made Rome, the City of Secrets, enjoyable, understandable and most of all personal to me, a sophomore in high school, as well as my whole family."
- Jared Reiter, Pennsylvania USA
"Roy's tour was the most educational and hands-on tour I've taken in all of Europe. He answered all our questions, and as a living member of the Jewish community in Rome, he has a sound foundation on Jewish history in Rome. During the tour we bumped into members of the Jewish community who told us of their first hand experiences in Rome. Roy's tours are for everyone: student travelers, families with children, and adults."
- Ryan Khordipour, Paris, France
"First of all, Roy was very fluent in ASL. (American Sign Language) He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and artistic nuance of Vatican City and City of Rome. He also has a wonderful personality very well suited to providing personalized tours. We loved it when he showed us some the secrets that ancient engineers, sculptors and artists used in their crafts. We would heartily recommend visitors consider this type of private tour, as the sheer magnitude of the experience is really helped by a knowledgeable expert who can focus your visit to optimize the wonder of it all! We were very lucky to have him as our guide. When we return to Italy we will be sure to contact him again."
- Arthur and Rosemary Zuber Rochester, NY
I have been asked, Why a Jew as a guide through the Vatican - - - ??!! Maybe, because you [Roy] are Jewish you tell it as it is - the 'not so nice' parts of Christianity - some Christians I know would have glossed over or blocked out completely in their Guide - I know my daughter Elenae and I were very impressed - and learned a lot - I , and Elenae both - would love to Rave about you ! I'm itching to return to Italy - and Rome!
- Jeanne Young, Denver, Colorado, USA
My parents are still talking about how much they enjoyed their trip to Rome, and your name always seems to pop up as the reason everything was savored to its fullest. You helped us create some wonderful memories, and I'll never forget that.

"We cannot thank you enough for the most incredible experience of our lives. Though a month has past since we spent five unforgettable days - four touring with you and Shabbat - we haven't stopped telling everyone about how you are the greatest tour guide in the world! (And we are not exaggerating!) Our time with you was better than any history course. We have learned and retained so much more information.
Our boys, Justin 14, and Ezra, 11 continue to talk about you as a part of our family. You kept them (and us) spellbound with unforgettable midrashim, lessons from tanach, etc. It is amazing how much our sons remember from your stories. You made them feel so special and important. Your pace, points-of-interest, secret facts, engaging style, and lessons kept their attention after hours and hours and days and days! What a gift you have! We will always remember Ezra singing Hakovah Sheli Shalosh Pinot with a Jewish Roman gladiator in front of the Colosseum!
We still get goosebumps when we tell people about the Jewish connection to Titus and Hadrian, walking in our brothers' and sisters' footsteps from over 2000 years ago, seeing the Jewish ghetto from an insider's eyes, the hidden synagogue where Jews prayed when Hitler's army was murdering Jews, and the ruins of the Temple of Peace. Of course, this only scratches the surface of the incredible things we experienced with you!
Your knowledge of art history and architecture is mindboggling and we sure did learn a lot about Michaelangelo and Bernini. We also can't thank you enough for arranging and guiding us on our special day in Tivoli. It was breathtaking to see Hadrian's Villa and Ville D' Este. And of course, we will always be grateful to Daniela, our driver and your special assistant. She added so much to the day.
We would be remiss in not mentioning Denise and David, your two gifted assistants. We also enjoyed listening to and spending a fabulous day with them. They are truly winners! Last, but not least, we were amazed at how you knew practically everyone wherever we went. From the kosher restaurants to the Colosseum, people greeted you with such love and affection!
Roy, without any doubt we feel sorry for anyone who goes to Rome and does not have the good fortune to take a tour with you. We met as strangers, we walked away as family. Your lessons, your hospitality, your huge generous and metchadikah heart will stay with us as we, G-d willing, grow old. We can only pray that we will have the great fortune of spending time with you again and we hope that with Hashem's blessing, you will someday come and dance at our sons' weddings."
- Best wishes and many blessings from the entire Wiemer family. Liza, Jim, Justin and Ezra (Fox Point, Wisconsin) June 22 - June 26, 2005; 15th - 19th of Sivan 5765
