incredible day trips out of Rome ... TIVOLI!

There are only a few places on Earth of enough historic or esthetic importance to be officially declared a World Heritage Site.
We are thrilled to be able to take you to TWO of these sites in one amazing tour!

It starts with the Villa of Hadrian in the morning, in gorgeous countryside about one hour outside of Rome.
It's one thing to hear about the genius and the insanity of Hadrian the enemy of Israel, it's entirely different to walk through the
mini-empire built to suit his crazed whims. The entire project took tens of thousands of slaves ten years, but
he did it. We'll see intact mosaics, and view some of his incredibly sophisticated and inventive structures:
part Greek, part Roman, part Egyptian, and part Wonderland.
After exploring the amazing sights there, the next stop is the mad Cardinal d'Este's Villa and its world-famous
fountain pleasure garden, with a snack out on the Cardinal's own Renaissance terrace with its breathtaking views.
The composers Palestrina and Franz Liszt both were guests in this villa in different eras, and each wrote music
dedicated to this early version of Disneyland.

This is an unforgettable full day tour, with a guide/driver.
For groups up to 3 persons, who can fit in the docent's
small Italian car, there is no need to rent a vehicle for
the day. For larger groups, we will need advance notice
in order to rent a suitable vehicle for the day, so those
rental costs will have to be figured in. Entrance fees for
the two separate Villas come to about 15 euro per
person, plus entrance tickets for the guide as well.

PLEASE NOTE: Given that we are very few guides with an overwhelming amount of request, and all our tours are private, we are forced to turn many clients away. Please consider this before finalizing your bookings by email as we have a 50% cancellation fee for any tour cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled tour meeting time.
